Private Protection Training
One-on-One Training with Alex
For owners who want to be personally involved in their dog’s protection development, we offer private one-on-one protection training with Alex, our Director of Protection.
These sessions allow handlers to actively participate in the training process while developing the skills necessary to properly handle and direct a protection-trained dog.
Training is tailored to the individual dog and handler team and progresses according to the dog’s temperament, maturity, and working ability.
Private sessions focus on building the same critical elements required in protection work, including:
• Engagement with the decoy
• Bark and hold development
• Grip mechanics and targeting
• Drive channeling and control
• Obedience integration with protection behaviors
• Handler timing and communication
Because protection dogs must develop both technical skill and mental maturity, progress occurs over time and cannot be rushed. Most dogs working through private protection development train consistently for a year or more, depending on the desired level of performance
.
This training path is ideal for owners who want to remain deeply involved in their dog’s development while learning the nuances of handling a working protection dog.
For many clients, private protection training represents a long-term investment in building a capable dog and a knowledgeable handler team.
Sessions are limited and scheduled in advance.
